Event 16.  Hathaway Stargazing Campout

Saturday and Sunday, August 14 & 15, 2010, 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM


Here's a great party for camping enthusiasts! Experience a north state summer
night on the Swede Creek Plains of the Hathaway Ranch in Oak Run, where you'll
find an amazing open sky. At the edge of the plains, we'll set up camp and view
spectacular night skies, and probably catch a Perseid meteor shower. After
camping under the stars, you'll wake to a hot breakfast provided by your hosts.
Hathaway Ranch is private property.  Shasta Land Trust has obtained special
permission to hold this event.

Event 17.  Waffles and Wildflowers on the River  This Event Has Sold Out

Saturday, September 11, 2010, 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon


Begin your morning with a short hike on the Sacramento River Trail with David
Fritchle, a native plant expert who will highlight wildflowers and native plants.
Afterward, enjoy brunch at the home of Gary and Belinda Sanda featuring
sourdough waffles and Greek frittata, tangerine mimosas, bloody marys, coffee,
and tea. After brunch, landscape designer Karen McGrath will discuss native and
Mediterranean garden plants in general terms, and those found in the Sanda
garden.

Event 18.  Redding's Secret Treasures II

Saturday, September 18, 2010, 9:00 AM


Back by popular demand! Ben Miles will introduce you to three interesting but
lesser known public lands in our area, suggested by local outdoor enthusiast
Randy Smith. Your trip starts at the Diestelhorst trailhead and will begin by
exploring the Yankee John Mine on 240 acres of BLM land. Then it's on to the
Clear Creek Trail, BLM's newest trail in our area. The final destination is Paynes
Creek, where you'll settle in for a picnic lunch. Meet at Diestlehorst trailhead.

Event 19.  Assemblage Collage Jewelry Workshop

Saturday, November 6, 2010, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM


Create a wonderful one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art, whether it's a necklace,
brooch, or earrings for yourself or a gift, or even something for a man in your life.
Troy's own work reflects his love of journaling and found objects. He will guide
you to create your vintage-look creation with old and new components, including
such treats as crystals, tin candy holders, coral, chain, wire wrapped stone, and
old keys. A truly unique day! Lunch is included. Located at Infinite Designs in
the Town and Country Center.
