Wildways: Fall River Garden Party

Wildways Featured Event for 2016 :  Fall River Garden Party a great success!

Shasta Land Trust, while looking to expand exposure of our special conservation easement lands in our Wildways Events, held its first “Fall River Garden Party” at the bucolic protected property of Whispering Oaks luxury retreat located on the Fall River.

Guests arrived with “oooos and ahhhhs” as they took in the sheer magnificence of the green land, meandering river and the exceptionally crafted lodge.  Once they toured the property guests were treated to a delectable array of appetizers, Fall River Beer, and local wine.  As people sauntered out onto the open deck overlooking the river, they mingled quietly in the breeze and were offered a chance to play lawn games, learn how to “cast a fly” from our volunteer fly fisherman, Kurt Mitchell, and experience firsthand the incredible artwork of Rodney E. Cloutier.   After cocktail hour, a scrumptious buffet dinner was served by a local Fall River caterer “Crumbs” and the raves were non-stop.

If this wasn’t enough, guests were then treated to the foot stompin’ sounds of band “Buckhorn Mountain Stompers” which shook the trees and put smiles on everyone’s faces.  Yes, a great time was had by all and the feedback has been very positive from those who attended.

Our sincerest thanks to Dignity Health who was a generous sponsor of this event, and to the Board of Directors of Shasta Land Trust who hosted the event.  Of course, we can't forget our supreme volunteers Joyce Evans, Margarita Velikanov , Jeff Thomas,  and Jerry Partridge, and to the Trust's dedicated and hardworking staff Susan Partridge, Anne Thomas, and Paul Vienneau.   Your hard work added to the success of this event!

Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!   Not only did you all make this a day to remember but it was so successful, the Trust will look forward to holding it again next year.  Hope to see you there!
