96 Acres of Nash Ranch Property Protected!
"The real win is long-term conservation. My property is now protected from development forever, ensuring that future generations won’t be pressured to sell out to developers. It’s a way to preserve farmland and ensure it stays in the family for the future. We are incredibly grateful to the Strategic Growth Council and the Department of Conservation for funding the protection of this property." -Bob Nash
We are thrilled to announce the permanent protection of 96 acres of the cherished Nash Ranch in Shasta County!
This protection ensures that the ranch—rich in agricultural heritage and community tradition—will remain undeveloped and productive for future generations to come. With barns, sheds, irrigation systems, and ranch roads in place, and the ongoing restoration of Stillwater Creek, the ranch is well-equipped to continue as a vital space for farming, education, and gathering.
Nash Ranch is home to a variety of sustainable farming and livestock operations, supported by Bella Vista Water District. Each year, the ranch produces crops with minimal pesticide use and raises 20–40 lambs, some cared for by local FFA students. Horses, pigs, alpacas, goats, and poultry also call the ranch home, contributing to the beloved Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch—an annual event that brings the community together.
In spring, 250 honeybee nuc boxes were placed by Stayer’s Quality Queens to support pollination and local apiary operations.
This conservation easement is made possible by the California Strategic Growth Council’s SALC Program and the Department of Conservation.
We’re deeply grateful to Bob Nash for his vision, leadership, and commitment to conservation, and we look forward to working together to protect even more of this cherished land in the future.
