Volunteer Spotlight - Richard Gregory

Richard Gregory

Richard "Rick" Gregory first heard about Shasta Land Trust last year at a local event that we were tabling. After attending our Holiday Open House, meeting many new faces, and learning more about who we are and what we do, Rick was hooked on all things Shasta Land Trust!

Rick grew up in the Intermountain area and has always had a fondness for the flora and fauna of Northern California. Volunteering with SLT, specifically on monitoring trips, allows Rick the chance to get back to the properties he has either explored, hunted, or worked on in his youth. He says it's also a great way to get outside and escape from the city life of Redding.

While still new to Shasta Land Trust, Rick has been a huge help in this year's conservation easement monitoring of our protected properties. His natural resource degree also comes in quite handy when assisting the Conservation Associate and other volunteers in the identification of native wildflowers and plants!

Rick likes volunteering with SLT because he enjoys interacting with SLT staff, supporters, and other like-minded people. Rick also strongly believes in what our organization stands for; protecting and maintaining open spaces for wildlife and agriculture and reducing the impact of man on the land.

Thanks, Rick, for all that you do for SLT!
